The printed comics magazine is losing ground, while digital slider-based comics are becoming more and more popular. It is especially among younger people with their smartphones where this concept is a success story. However, we decided to try to take this concept to the next level with integrated interactivity and a virtual 360-degree tour to empower the user’s experience. We are now launching the first production that still is in an experimental mode when it comes to the concept. The application was developed in our Storyteller PublishingLab for interaQtive Books. While it is originally published in our Bordertraveller blog that is now being launched. It is focusing on books, publishing and the society, and it is the English version of Gränsfararebloggen (in Swedish) that has been around for a while.

This collection includes stories from different societal environments, its drama and problems. At the same time as the book also is moving on another level in an underlying story. It is a time portrayal of a crumbling industrial society. Where dark clouds are covering the sky as it is no longer is in line with the development.
The first story starts on a peaceful day on the beach. With an approaching mystery and ends in the eye of a storm in “the Lighthouse”. A new society, the digital, is showing its youthful energy as the story is leaving the lighthouse behind. It is these people that are the Bordertravellers. They, who with a humanistic spirit shows the injustices in the old society but also works as the architects for the new, in both small and big contexts.

Or the timeless struggle between humanism and religious dogmas where the latter all too often develops into a monster. These are just some of the perspectives that are hiding in this collection of short stories.
